After a Very Long Hiatus...We're Back!

It's been a good six months or so since I've last posted, and we've had a lot of changes take place during all that time away. We've moved roughly 1700 miles away from the place we've lived most of our lives, welcomed a very happy little baby boy into our world, and said goodbye to Champ, the youngest of of our trio of dogs. Champ is alive and well, no worries, but between [hopefully] short-term apartment living (with a limit of 2 dogs), iffy relations between Jake and Champ in the past, and a new baby, we started looking for a home for him shortly after the move, and found a family thrilled to have him, with plenty of room to play and run, and two children ready for a four-legged playmate. Though we hated to give him up, we feel he's in a better situation now, and that is what matters most.
Life is busy but good. Posts probably won't be quite as regular as they once were, but hopefully this will be the beginning of many more fairly regular posts to come. Stay tuned. :)

Flashback Friday: Adorable Puppy

This was the first picture I was ever sent of Champ...we picked him up that very same night, I believe. How can you not fall in love with a face like this? He's bulked up all around a good bit since then, but can still pull that pitiful expression when he wants, even if nothing's wrong.

Fast Friends

We went on vacation back in April, and Champ went to stay with friends of ours -- Molly & Zoey's parents. Champ had already been over to meet the girls before our trip, so we knew they all got along great. So when we agreed to have Zoey over in May, we knew Champ would have an instant buddy. Isabella and Jake took to her fine, too (though Jake does seem to have a little more anxiety with other dogs these days, ever since Champ came to stay with us -- it's died down in the last several weeks since he's been away...we're hoping once both boys are fixed, that some of this issue will be resolved, but only time will tell).

Rare Shots

I've mentioned before how hard it is (especially since Champ has arrived) to capture shots of Isabella and Jake calmly laying side by side...it's even rarer to get a shot of the boys chilling beside each other. The other day, though, I managed to get both. :)

Jake's expressions, as always, crack me up, while Isabella, ever the perfect model, smiles perfectly for the camera as always.

A Day for Feeling Crazy

The weather's warming up, the sun's sticking around more, and sprouts of green are beginning to appear...it's enough to make any dog feel a little...crazy...

The last one is my favorite...notice how he keeps his eyes on me the whole time he's doing his crazy rolling...cracks me up...

Champ isn't my only crazy boy, either...Jake has had his goofy moments at well...

After a rainy start today, we got a gorgeous and sunny afternoon and early evening, with very comfortable weather to be out in to boot -- definitely my favorite way to end a day. I love this time of year -- that is, when the time changes and we go back to longer, lighter evenings. Just makes me happier.  :)
