Enjoying a Gorgeous March Evening

Buds are beginning to bloom!

After a rainy start today, we got a gorgeous and sunny afternoon and early evening, with very comfortable weather to be out in to boot -- definitely my favorite way to end a day. I love this time of year -- that is, when the time changes and we go back to longer, lighter evenings. Just makes me happier.  :)

A distraction for the kids over at the house the other day proved to be a fascination to Isabella as well.

Squirrel! Squirrel!

Unlike yesterday, today is a dreary, chilly, wet day.

I noticed Isabella looking very intently out the window, paws on sill, like she was going to pounce. Finally I walked over to see the cause of her focus, and noticed this squirrel. He hung around for a few minutes, long enough for me to get several shots of him (though not my best, through a closed window and screen). Jake came over quickly enough to see what all the commotion was about, and they both whined and watched intently as the squirrel ran about, burrowed in the pinestraw a bit, and hung around.
